Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game - Additions to my collection

So, some last-minute arrivals to add to the collection for Middle-Earth SBG.  Added to the rule-books that I have.  I now have the "War in Rohan" book that just came out.  Model wise, my Dead of Dunharrow army got some additions with the "King of the Dead & Heralds", as well as "The Three Hunters" box sets.  Looking forward to building and painting all of these, as well as getting them on the table-top for some gameplay.

War In Rohan
Inside this book there is a ton of information:

– The History of Rohan.
– 24 narrative play Scenarios.
– The War in Rohan Campaign.
– Sieges: Brand-new rules for fighting sieges.
– Armies: Rohan, LothlĂłrien, Fangorn, Isengard, and Dunland
      - Includes new profiles for a range of Heroes.
– Legendary Legions: Nine stand-alone army lists.
– And a cool Miniatures showcase.

King of the Dead & Heralds
This box set contains the following:

– The King of the Dead - This is an awesome model, great sculpt.
– 2 Heralds - Both of which have a banner and greats sculpts as well.

This will be a great addition to my The Dead of Dunharrow army.  All three of these models can lead their own warbands, and I look forward to seeing how I can use them in my army lists.

The Three Hunters
During the Battle of Pelennor Fields, the three hunters arrived at the Docks of Harlond when things seemed darkest for the White City, leading the Army of the Dead – and with them came victory for the Men of the West.

This plastic kit contains the following:

– Aragorn
– Legolas
– and Gimli

I love all three of these sculpts, and feel they are the best of the three models made for these characters.  They will make a great edition for the themed army I want to make for Dead of Dunharrow (Army of the Dead).

So pumped to have all this added to my collection.  I'll do separate posts in the future when I build and paint them, and will do breakdowns for each.

Until next time........

AdeptiCon 2020 - Looking forward to the fun

So, this year will be my official first time going to AdeptiCon.  I was all set up to go last year, tickets were purchased, all events paid for (3 of them), it was going to be a blast.  Then Life happened.

Anyway, let us hope this year is better.  Once again, tickets and events are bought and paid for, even pre-ordered a 2020 T-Shirt this year. the main game I will be playing this year will be Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game.  I'm signed up for a team tournament with my friend Dragi, I am also going to be playing in the Middle-earth Grand Tournament (Saturday Day 1, and if all goes good that day, then Sunday Day 2).

Here are the events and the descriptions:

I am looking forward to both.  I was hoping that my friend Dragi was going to be playing the Grand Tournament with me, but he will be doing a 40K team tournament both Saturday and Sunday, so maybe next year 😌.

I have a lot of things to do before AdeptiCon, and a lot of models to finish building and painting.  For the Middle-Earth Team Tournament, Dragi will be bringing his Minas Tirath and I will be bringing Rohan, a new Army for me for Middle-Earth.  I look forward to this event the most.  For the Grand Tournament, I will be playing my Moria//Angmar army, led by no other than Balrog himself.  It should be a blast.

Besides building and painting all the models, another huge challenge I will have is to build not one but two army display boards.  One for the Team Tourny and one for the Grand Tournament.

Wish me luck, lol.  I'm going to need it.

I'll be posting more on my progress towards AdeptiCon soon......

Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game - Battle of Pelennor Fields Box Set

Wanting to get more into this game, I decided instead of just buying the main rule book, I would just go ahead and buy the "Battle of Pelennor Fields".  This is such a great value for the amount of money you have to spend.

Another good bonus about this box set is that my son has always expressed an interest in playing a full Mordor army, and what comes in this box will give him a great start toward that.    Also, almost all my models are on the Evil side of the armies with Moria and Angmar, so I wanted to start a few armies on the Good side of the game.  This single starter box will give me a start to two armies of the good, Rohan of course and The Dead of Dunharrow.

There is a lot of plastic in this box set.  So looking forward to building it all and getting it painted up and on the tabletop for gaming.  I know I still have a lot of unpainted models for Moria and Angmar, but hey, who doesn't, lol.  But that is the plight of all gamers I know, and probably will not change anytime in the near future, lol 😛.

Below is a list of all the contents that came in the box (such a great bargain):

  • Main Contents
    • The complete, 208-page hardback Middle-Earth SBG Rules Manual.
    • A 16-page Scenarios and Profiles Booklet.
    • 12 Six-Sided Dice (6 Green and 6 Red).
    • Rohan Range Ruler and Mordor Range Ruler.
  • Forces of Good
    • Theoden, King of Rohan (On Foot and Mounted Versions)
    • 12 Riders of Rohan
    • 12 Warriors of Rohan
    • 20 Warriors of the Dead
  • Forces of Evil
    • The Witch-King of Angmar on Fell Beast
      • I wish they would have given an on-foot version as well, little disappointed on this one, but still a nice model.
    • 36 Morannon Orcs
    • 1 Mordor Troll
I forgot to take a picture of everything together, so I snagged/borrowed the one off the GW website, you can click on this link (Battle of Pelennor Fields Box Set) to go see the official site for this box set.

I'll make posts of these as I get painted and compete.

Catch you next time.
