Beyond the Gates of Antares - Concord Troops getting painted and based

I still have three of the five man squads to complete, but didn't want to wait till they were done to do a post on my progress and how they look so far.  I decided to go with my own color scheme rather than use that of the armies in the book.  I always like to be different, lol.

First 5 man squad complete.
I have been enjoying everything with this Gates of Antares starter set.  I did have one problem with one of the sprues that came in the boxed set.  It looked like something heavy either laid onto the box, or box dropped, not sure.  But when I opened everything, one of the Concord sprues was damaged and a couple of the arm were broken off at the wrists.

I got to say, Warlord Games has some very good customer service, and after I emailed them to let them know what had happened, they dispatched a replacement sprue which I hope to have withing the next week or so, and I will be able to finish the last of the five man squads.  My hats off to there customer service and willingness to help out.  I am totally impressed.

I hope to finish off what I can until the sprue arrives, and will also be making a post about painting up the Ghar models from the starter set.

Warlord Games - Beyond the Gates or Antares Starter Box Models built

I've been slacking again, but did find some time this week to put all the models together for the Beyond the Gates of Antares starter set.  This was a fun group of models to put together.  I really like the Ghar models, and look forward to buying more in the near future.

Was very impressed with what all came with the starter box, uncluding the full rules hardback book.
I will do another post after I get everything painted, as well as when I get my first game on the table.

New Purchase - Starter Set for Beyond the Gates of Antares

So I purchased the starter box for the game Beyond the Gates of Antares from my local Hobby Store - Odyssey Games.  I have been looking at this game for awhile and decided to pull the trigger.  The starter box is an amazing value for the price.  I love the fact they give you the FULL hard-back full-size rule-book in the starter box, most starter boxes from other companies only give you intro rules, or smaller pint-sized versions of the rules.  Well done Warlord Games.

I hope to have these put together and painted over the next week or two, as I also have 3 other painting projects on my table already, but I will make room for them.  Nothing like keeping myself busy.  On top of this, next week I will finish off my gaming table and terrain, and I will doing one large post about that as well.

I'm not sure I will do a whole unboxing post about the starter set, as there are so many of them out there, but we will see.  Tonight I will get everything out of the box, and see where things take me.  I may do a unboxing video, and if I do, will post that to the blog.

Lots to look forward to on the blog over the next couple of weeks.

Until next time, KEEP ON GAMING.
