Got in a couple more models of the farmers painted up. I'm not the fastest or best painter in the world, but I don't think I did too bad. Continuing on with "The Honest Land" box, I decided to get Bushel and Windle done next.
Bushel was fun to paint, but with Windle, I really had a hard time with him. Seems I always have issues with models that show a lot of skin, as I am terrible at painting flesh tones. But I'm happy with how they tuned out.
Here is the picture for Bushel al painted up and based:
Below is Bushels Stat card, I feel she will see some play time and I feel she can score if need be.
And here is the image for Windle, painted and based:
Below is his stat card, Windle will most likely be on the pitch on every game for me, but we will see.
Until next time, keep your stick on the ice and remember to always try and have fun.

Painting my Guild Ball Farmers
I decided to go ahead and start painting my Farmers Guild. I'm going to stick to painting one box at a time, and decided to start with the The Honest Land box.
I really like the way the models look, and prep was not that bad, hardly any flashing or mold lines, etc. I decided to try a new technique for priming that my friend Dean suggested (You can see his blog here: The Old West Chronicle). It the Zenithal (SP?) Priming Technique, where I primed Black, then sprayed down from the top with white. I only used two colors, where I have seen online where people sometimes use three colors.
Since I don't paint that often, which is a crime in itself, I know. I decided not to jump in a mass paint them like I usually do, but rather to start small and just do two models. This way I could test out the new technique above, and test my paint scheme to see how I like it, and to get myself warmed back up with the brushes.
The models I decided to try is the Ball Marker model and Harrow.
I don't know if the new priming technique really helped me that much, but it did bring out details that made it easier to paint the models. I will go ahead and try that technique again on the rest of the models for this box set, and see how it goes. The next post about the farmers will show the completed paint jobs for the rest of this box set. Once those are done, including the terrain pieces that came in this box, I will then start on the second box, and also include Veteran Honour from the Exiles as well.
Below is Harrow's game card/stats. I think Harrow will see some playing time with me, he has some interesting stats, and I like his Character Plays and Traits.
Until next time, play more games and try to have fun.

Guild Ball - Farmers: Starting a new team
Guild Ball is a fast-paced mob football skirmish game that takes place in the Empire of the Free Cities. Victory comes with carefully constructed plays and counter plays with emphasis on positioning and resource management. Anybody can pick up the ball and give it a kick, but only the most experienced coach can earn the title of Guild Ball World Champion.
I started out playing Guild Ball with the Brewers Team, and also have the beginnings of the Masons Team. Both of which I received when I purchased the two-player starter set from Steamforged Games - Guild Ball Kick Off. I do not believe Steamforged Games is making that box set anymore, but I believe you can still find it on some gaming sites and Amazon or E-Bay.
Even though I love the Brewers, I felt I should broaden my horizons and start playing other teams as well. So jumped head first into the Farmers Guild. I picked up the both box sets of the team, as well as picking up one of the exile players for the Farmers when I also purchased the "New Alliances" box set. I will be covering that box in another post.
A little bit about the Farmers Guild:
The Farmer’s Guild is a team of ragtag misfits welded together by their coach, Honour. They’re a story of rags to riches, the underdogs in a world where the big dogs are very big indeed.
The Farmers rely on their unique harvest markers, placed by their Planters. These rich, nutritious harvest markers can be used by the Reapers of the team to gain powerful bonuses and effects! The team can also use them to get extra influence, giving them a powerful resource that no other team has access to.
The Farmers are strong takeout focused team, with access to plenty of team support and buffing abilities to keep them in the fight. They have extremely reliable low to midrange damage, but their damage doesn’t scale quite as well as teams like the Butchers, making them very reliable overall but meaning they don’t gain as much if their dice run hot. They’re generally not particularly good at handling the ball, but they can absolutely score goals if they need to. They’re strong in the late game, as their high health pools, reliability, and easy momentum generation allows them to keep ploughing their furrow when other guilds start to run out of steam.
The Farmer’s Guild are for coaches who want plenty of team support abilities and very reliable damage. They’re also a guild for anyone who likes playing the good guys!
Farmers Guild Box 1 - "The Honest Land"
This boxed set contains 6 players (Grange - Captain, Peck - Mascot, Windle, Bushel, Harrow, and Jackstraw), You also get a Farmers themed ball (pumpkin), Goal Token (a millstone), 3D Terrain Piece (a pile of baskets and crates), cardboard tokens and health dials for all players.
I will create another post when I get these guys painted up. Until next time, may the dice roll in your favor (unless your playing me), and always try to have fun. You know, because its just a game.....
